quest scholars

i'm going to start mentoring for the quest scholars program at stanford.  it's a program where talented high school students from low-income families get to spend the summer on campus to experience college life and receive personal, educational and professional direction.
 
bio of my mentee:
"[xx] is going to be a senior in high school. He originally grew up in Shanghai, China and moved to the US when he was 10. He now lives in Temple City, CA. During his time in China, he spent most of his time living with his grandparents as an only child. He plays badminton on the school team and also plays the violin. He has also spent some time studying Chinese calligraphy." 

i'm excited.  but i still need to think of a cool place to take him...
