some new trailers to check out

a very long engagement - jeunet's newest since amelie, also starring audrey tautou and with cinematographer bruno delbonnel. looks like jeunet is continuing his foray into new genres. i had my doubts when i heard he was making a romantic comedy but amelie was a seminal film experience. if he manages to pull off the epic war drama genre on his own grounds, i'd argue jeunet is one of today's most versatile directors. it'll also be interesting to see how delbonnel's camera style translates to battle scenes

tarnation - you might have heard of this already...jonathan caouette's documentary on growing up with his schizophrenic mother...a mixture of 19 years of snapshots, answering machine messages, video diaries, early short films all editied with iMovie and costing only a couple hundred dollars to make. executive produced by john cameron mitchell and gus van sant
