restful saturday

restful saturday made complete with tasty eats, a bad but entertaining movie, time for laundry and several wholesome hours bumming around at a local bookstore. while there realized 1) need to spend more weekends relaxing at bookstores...2) there are many, many books i need to read / finish reading.



picked up the conversations : walter murch and the art of editing film. been meaning to get this for a while now...for those of you who aren't too familiar with walter murch, he edited apocalypse now (and redux) among others, co-wrote THX 1138 and helped start zeotrope production with lucas and coppola pre-godfather 1. so far it's an awesome read.

also spent the last hour compiling a (partial) list of other film/screenwriting books i'd like to absorb in the near future:

-Art Of Dramatic Writing : Its Basis in the Creative Interpretation of Human Motives
-The Writer's Journey: Mythic Structure for Writers
-Adventures in the Screen Trade
